Convergence work was recognised by our peers with the announcement we are co-winners of the New Zealand Public Relations Institute’s 2021 overall Supreme award, for the most outstanding communications campaign of the year.

Our confidential project involved an integrated government relations and media strategy for one of our long-term clients and was worked on by Partner Lisa-Marie Richan and Account Director Katie Moore. The same project also won Gold for the team in the Government Relations and Public Affairs Category.

This is the second time in nine years that Convergence has been co-winner of the Supreme award.

We also received a Silver award in the most hotly contested category, Community and Stakeholder Engagement, for Partner Erin Jamieson and Account Manager Jess Cartwright’s work on Canterbury Museum’s $195 million redevelopment project.

Earlier redevelopment plans were halted by the Environment Court – putting intense pressure on stakeholder buy-in and a smooth consent application process to ensure success of the latest redevelopment plan.

Our task was to engage stakeholders and ensure most of their objections were countered before the resource consent was lodged and opened for public submissions. The results would not have been achieved without the high level of trust exhibited by the Canterbury Museum, which readily accepted all of Convergence’s strategic recommendations.
