Janine has more than 14 years experience as a print journalist and public relations practitioner, much of this time working for Government agencies.
Stints in Parliament as a writer for the National Parliamentary Research Unit and as press secretary for the former Associate Agriculture, Forestry, Customs and Senior Citizens (National) Minister Hon. David Carter honed her Government Relations skills. Janine’s time in Wellington also included communications work for Wellington City Council and the New Zealand Tourism Board, before a move to Christchurch in 2001 led to work with the regional council (Environment Canterbury) and then Lincoln-based AgResearch. Janine spent three years communicating water concerns for the regional council and has a particular passion for resource management issues.
Her strengths are communications and issues planning, government and community relations, media relations and writing. She loves writing so much she regularly contributes features for her local newspaper, the Ashburton Guardian. Janine particularly enjoys getting involved with a project from an early stage, developing a communications plan and then implementing it in conjunction with clients.
