In 2008, Convergence undertook some publicity work for advertising agency G2 which is part of the Grey Group, one of the world’s largest advertising agencies. G2 wanted to raise its profile in the New Zealand market, particularly with business audiences, and specifically sought our assistance to promote the results of their recent attitudinal survey on New Zealanders’ views across a range of topics.
The solution:
Our recommendation was to develop four separate, targeted media releases and also to summarise the methodology used in ‘Eye on New Zealand’ to enhance credibility of the results.
The approach achieved significantly more coverage than the client had anticipated, and this was secured over quite a sustained period. Results included two extended TV studio interviews (Sunrise on TV3 and Breakfast on TV1); a quarter page article in the NZ Herald as well as various articles in papers across New Zealand; three consecutive months editorial coverage in Marketing Magazine; various news items and live interviews on RNZ’s Morning Report, Newstalk ZB, The Radio Network and Radio Live and coverage in the Independent Financial Review.
The client described our work as exceptional. To find out more about G2 and Eye on New Zealand click here.
“The efficiency, professionalism and value that Convergence added to what was an extremely important self promotion campaign for us was seamless. We could not have asked for a better communications partner.” – Sarah Norrie, Managing Director, G2
